Our Communities

Connecting Municipalities, Businesses, Schools, Churches, Libraries, and Other Organizations Through Households

Although the tools and resources on My Energy Plan are geared to the household, we encourage municipalities, businesses, schools, churches, libraries, and other organizations to use our resources to reach their residents and members interested in reducing their energy consumption. We can link these households together, to show their collective power in lowering costs and environmental impact.

Linking Households

The easiest way to link households together is through the use of our tracking "widget" placed on the website of your town, library, school, church, or business. The widget will update automatically as more and more households create their own energy plans.

The widget is easy to install and even easier to maintain (there's nothing you have to do!). We have several widgets to choose from and here are a few examples.

Contact us if you'd like a customized widget for your website.

Host a My Energy Plan Challenge

If you'd like a more structured approach to reaching residents in your community, we provide resources, guidance, and support for hosting a My Energy Plan Challenge. A Challenge can last several weeks or up to a year, depending on your preferences and needs. We can guide you through the entire process (organizing structure, marketing and communications, best practices, awards and recognition, and wrap-up) or just assist you in the areas you feel you need a little help.

Since 2007, we've helped many municipalities, schools, churches, libraries, and businesses host their own Challenges including:
